CAPCOG’s Information Clearinghouse strives to provide easy access to useful data sources and publications for our region. Categorized by type of information, the Clearinghouse includes geospatial (GIS) data, tabular (Census and Demographic) data, maps, publications (including presentations from workshops), and information about the Geomap program, which is a cost saving program for the region to obtain current base map data such as aerial imagery and LiDAR data.
On the information Clearinghouse you will also have access to our newest publication- Data Points, which seeks to raise awareness of data of regional significance by showing how it can be utilized. Also, the IC houses information that we develop as part of our Census Information Center (CIC) designation achieved through an agreement with the Census Bureau. The goal of our CIC program is to provide data and analysis for a local audience that may not be served by the Census Bureau’s own outreach efforts. For additional census data not available online, please contact Chris Ramser.
There is no charge to download information from the Clearinghouse. CDs, DVDs, or prints of these datasets can be purchased at cost of reproduction plus labor and shipping based on this fee schedule. To order any of these datasets, please contact Carolyn Defoore or CAPCOG’s Center for Regional Development at (512) 916-6000.
