Community Comprehensive Planning Support: Assistance is available to member communities with the review and/or development of subdivision and zoning regulations as either BASIC assistance, such as state guideline adherence review, or ADVANCED assistance such as regulation revision support. (Basic assistance is free to members with advanced incurring a cost of $36.00 per hour to offset staff time. Nonmembers incur a charge of $36.00 per hour for both basic and advanced assistance)
SOLID WASTE PLANNING

Review of MSW Facility Permit Applications : CAPCOG reviews MSW facility permit applications to determine conformance with the adopted regional solid waste management plan and TCEQ guidelines.
Grade School Education Program : Recycling and composting programs education is available to all grade schools in the CAPCOG region. Presentations can be held for any age level and range from 1 hour in length to an all day class. (Free to Public Schools)
Legal Disposal Guidance and Support : Technical assistance is available on the legal disposal options from hazardous waste to residential waste. Location information can also be provided. (Free to the Public)
Illegal Dumping Notification and Support : The 1-877-NO-DUMPS hotline is available to all citizens to report an illegal dump. The Regional Environmental Task Force (RETF) refers cases and assists local agencies on investigating environmental crimes. (Free to the Public)
Recycling Instruction and Training : Technical assistance is available to the public on recycling. "What can be recycled" and "where to take it" questions can be answered by CAPCOG's knowledgeable staff. (Free to the Public)
Environmental Law Enforcement Training : The RETF provides special 2-day trainings twice a year for law enforcement personnel focusing on environmental crimes. Special trainings can also be held upon request. (TCLEOSE & Sanitarian CEC's credit offered) (Free to Member Governments)
Environmental Resource Center and Library Access : Books, magazines, newsletters and reference materials are available for public use in this center. The materials are of assistance for related reports and projects. Information can be found on nearly everything dealing with solid waste. A computer is also available for printing out closed landfill maps. (Free to the Public)
REGIONAL INFORMATION SERVICES (Including GIS)

Collection, analysis, and distribution of regional data, including: demographic, economic, political, infrastructure, natural resource, and GIS data. Custom data and mapping services available.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ANALYSIS
Economic Development Planning Support: Assistance is available to member communities in producing economic development plans which would involve the following: conducting economic base analysis; determining a community's workforce availability, skill levels, preference of industry focus; and help to develop a business retention & expansion program to meet the community's needs and wants.
Economic Impact Analysis: For high-end economic modeling, staff can conduct economic impact analyses on proposed business locations, expansions, and contractions for local governments using the REMI Policy Insight (TM) model.
