Texas Falls Prevention Coalition
In 2007, the Texas Association of Area Agencies on Aging (T4A) initiated a statewide falls prevention initiative to help reduce hospitalizations and deaths of older adults as a result of falls. The Texas Falls Prevention Coalition (TFPC) was created as the primary mechanism to coordinate those efforts by implementing an evidence-based program called A Matter of Balance- Managing Concerns about Falls. Organizations and individuals from across the state share information and coordinate fall prevention strategies and action steps, identify gaps in fall prevention services and resources for all Texans, and advocate for policies that support fall prevention.
