CAPCOG Employment Opportunities

Assistant Director - Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area
Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area (AAACAP), a division within CAPCOG, that provides quality services to support the health, safety, and well-being of older individuals in the 10-county Capital Area through a variety of programs and activities is seeking candidates to be an active part of their team as the Assistant Director. Work involves advanced administrative work overseeing the daily operations and activities of the Division’s budgeting and reporting. Responsible for planning, program support, policy development, fiscal operations and oversight consistent with the requirements of the Older Americans Act and other grant projects. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.
Travel is required within the 10-county region. The incumbent must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance specified by the State of Texas, and dependable transportation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in social services, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Four years of experience working within the social services field, experience with program(s) budget generation and fiscal management, and two years of supervisory experience required.
Experience and education may be substituted for one another.  
Salary range: $65,000 - $69,000 depending on qualifications

Benefits Counselor - Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area
Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area (AAACAP), a division within CAPCOG, that provides quality services to support the health, safety, and well-being of older individuals in the 10-county Capital Area through a variety of programs and activities is seeking candidates to be an active part of their team as a Benefits Counselor. Work involves advising older individuals and those with disabilities in the region in filing claims for benefits and investigating complaints. Work requires collecting, preparing, reviewing and analyzing case data used to determine client eligibility for financial, medical and/or social services using specialized program knowledge and service skills to develop a plan of action.
Travel is required within the 10-county region. The incumbent must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance specified by the State of Texas, and dependable transportation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in social services, business or public administration, political science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Experience working within the human services field, insurance field, or public benefits assistance preferred.
Certification: Must obtain Benefits Counselor I certification within three months of hire date.
Salary: $18.65 per hour
