Basic Peace Officer Certification
| Basic Peace Officer Course - (Day Class) - BPOC |
View Description »
The Basic Peace Officer Course is designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take TCLEOSE's Peace Officer Licensing Exam. Subjects are taught by TCLEOSE certified Peace Officers and former Peace Officers to meet standardized learning objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a Peace Officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as "hands-on" practical lessons. Students are required to do Physical Training (PT) every day in addition to classroom instruction.
This is a 6 month, full time, police training academy which runs from 7:00AM to 5:30PM, Monday through Thursday.
