Homeland Security Training: Tornado Awareness

CAPCOG will host a Tornado Awareness course that strives to increase the understanding of tornado science basics, the weather forecasting process, and the tornado warning process. Attendees will learn concepts of how to better implement safety measures for themselves, their family, and their organizations to prepare for tornado season.

Tornadoes can strike anywhere in the United States with little or no warning. They are capable of causing significant loss of life and billions of dollars in damages. It is important that every community be prepared by understanding tornadoes and their associated dangers.

This course is being offered through the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center of the University of Hawaii. It state that there is eligible continuing education from the following organizations:
