It will include an overview of the many services and resources provided by the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area and the Aging and Disability Resource Center of the Capital Area.Topics to be covered will include:

Get updates on regional solid waste issues at this meeting, open to the public. The Solid Waste Advisory Committee, formed in 1993, helps coordinate and guide implementation of the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan. The committee, whose membership includes representatives from across the greater Austin metropolitan area, also scores and prioritizes applications for solid waste grant funds.

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health will bring in national experts to address topics including community collaboration, engaging historically excluded groups, social determinants of mental health, change, and dialogue and learning to help attendees consider solutions to questions such as:

  • How can we approach collaboration with cultural humility?

Local Business Training: Governor’s Small Business Workshop — Bastrop

The Office of the Governor will host a Governor’s Small Business Workshops in Bastrop to provide rural small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to interact with small business resource providers, such as business lenders, business-oriented nonprofits, and local, regional, state and federal agencies.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to attend the workshops to receive interactive, hands-on assistance from the resource providers and gather information needed to start and strengthen their business.

Local Business Training: Governor’s Small Business Forum — Round Rock

The Office of the Governor is hosting its Governor’s Small Business Forum to provide business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with timely, relevant, actionable advice on how to start, operate, grow and sustain their businesses.

The events feature private and public small business resources, practical solutions, best practices and expert assistance on a broad range of business topics and challenges. It is also an opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs, business owners, managers, and business-oriented nonprofits, as well as local, regional, state and federal agencies. All forums include the Governor's Small Business Awards to recognize outstanding businesses in Texas.
