The CAPCOG Criminal Justice Program is conducting a virtual grant workshop on January 5 that will assist nonprofit organizations and local governments in applying for six Office of the Governor (OOG), Criminal Justice Division (CJD) grant programs, which CAPCOG provides the state with funding recommendations.
For the 2022 plan year, CAPCOG will review applications and make recommendations for the following CJD funding opportunities: the Criminal Justice Program, the General Victim Assistance Direct Service Program, the Juvenile Justice and Truancy Prevention Grant Program, the Residential and Community-Based Services for Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation Program, the Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE)-Ready Facilities Program, and Violence Against Women Justice and Training Program. The workshop will cover the Office of the Governor’s requirements but focus on CAPCOG’s grant recommendation process and requirements. Topics to be discussed include the CAPCOG Criminal Justice Advisory Committee’s review criteria, the region’s criminal justice strategic plan and criminal justice priorities, the grant application timeline and how applications will be presented to the committee.
CAPCOG anticipates CJD releasing the funding announcements for the programs before December 14, when eGrants will start accepting applications. More information about the CAPCOG grant process and a video of the workshop will be at capcog.org/what-we-do/funding-grants/criminal-justice/. Unlike previous years, this workshop is not required to apply to the funding opportunities.
