Closed Landfill Inventory

As mandated by the state in 1993, CAPCOG developed a complete inventory of closed municipal solid waste landfills for its regional solid waste management plan. The inventory looks to help protect public health and safety when development occurs over property once used for waste disposal.

The CAPCOG inventory includes a report for each county in the ten-county region; the reports contain information about each closed landfill in the corresponding county. Reports posted to this page have been reduced in file size to facilitate faster downloads and website speeds. These reports also contain scans of old county and municipal records which can be hard to read. If they appear to be illegible, you can contact the Community and Economic Development Division to see if they original documents are easier to read.
