General management includes the office of the Executive Director which has oversight over all program and administrative functions of CAPCOG.
General management includes fiscal management (grants administration, performance measures, financial reporting and budgeting), human resources (insurance, the retirement system), records management, and public information. CAPCOG’s general management staff updates the CAPCOG website, including the CAPCOG online regional directory, and produces multiple publications including the CAPCOG annual report and performance measures, the CAPCOG monthly newsletter, program brochures, advertisements, and media releases. In addition, general management staff serves as the primary liaison for services to member organizations and regional stakeholders.

CAPCOG’s Speakers Bureau
The staff is committed to serving the ten-county region through CAPCOG’s programs in public safety, services for aging and disabled, community and economic development, and environmental planning for air quality and solid waste, and are available to make presentations in any of these areas of work or can provide a general overview of all agency programs. Please allow 30 minutes for a presentation along with Q&A.

Information Technology Services
Information technology services staff maintains CAPCOG’s computer, networking, and telephone equipment and provide guidance in the selection of new equipment and the development of regional technological infrastructure. This includes administration/maintenance of the CAPCOG local area network, homeland security WebEOC and emergency notification systems, all operating systems, servers, network printers/plotters, network hardware, and email. Information technology services staff also provide internal internet and user application support for CAPCOG.
Finance
Finance staff is responsible for all internal and external financial services for CAPCOG programs in the following areas: accounting, budgeting, financial management and reporting, purchasing and payroll. Finance staff also provides certain support services as needed to implement programs in accordance with grant and contract agreements.
CAPCOG often seeks vendors to complete work for the agency or assist local governments through its own grant processes. It does so by using several different forms of solicitation to find a pool of vendors and select a qualified contractor for the work. Common forms of solicitations include: Request for Applications (RFAs), Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Bids (RFBs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Qualifications (RFQs).
Prospective vendors should only contact CAPCOG staff when instructed by a published request as CAPCOG can only accept unsolicited proposals in situations that would not be subject to competitive bid.

CAPABLE Program Contactors – Open until funding expires
CAPCOG, working as the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area, is accepting qualification-based applications for its Community Aging in Place-Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE ) Program contracting positions. CAPABLE is a evidence-based home intervention for older adults created by Johns Hopkins University, that partners occupational therapists, registered nurses, and home repair professionals with older adults to improve their quality of life at home and help them age in place. The available contractor positions are listed below and contain links to each positions’ scope of work and application. Each position has it one unique application and contract.
Occupational Therapists
Occupational Therapists (OTs) will be part of a team of OTs and registered nurses (RNs) providing in-home visits to identified older adults in Bastrop and Caldwell counties. Clients in the program receive six visits from an OT and four from an RN, as well as services from a home repair professional. CAPABLE is unique in that it is client-driven; participants set their own goals with the assistance of OTs and RNs. An ideal candidate has experience performing in-home visits with older adults and is committed to assisting the client to set their own goals. A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and licensure in the state of Texas are required. Training in the CAPABLE model is provided. Home Repair Professional
Home Repair Professionals will be part of a team of occupational therapists (OTs) and registered nurses (RNs) providing in-home visits to older adults in Bastrop County. Clients in the program receive home repairs based on goals identified by participants; repairs are generally limited in scope and are intended to improve day-to-day functioning of participants. An ideal candidate has experience with a wide variety of home repair jobs, such as installing railings and replacing light fixtures, as well as experience working with older adults.
