CAPCOG is hosting a Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) briefing for DR-4416 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, the September/October 2018 Severe Storms, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 in the Pecan Room located at 6800 Burleson Road, Building 310, Suite 165 Austin, TX 78744.
TDEM is now accepting applications for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) designated in the Major Disaster Declaration for DR-4416 Texas Severe Storms and Flooding affecting 36 counties including three CAPCOG area counties — Burnet, Llano, and Travis. The initial estimate provided by FEMA is for $5,699,368 available in HMGP funding for this declaration. This figure may change at the one-year mark.
Eligible sub applicants include state agencies, local governments, tribal governments, and certain private nonprofit organizations.
All entities seeking funding under this opportunity must have a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Action Plan at the time the project is submitted to FEMA for consideration and at the time an award is made with the exception of projects to develop or update mitigation plans. An exception to this requirement may be requested on a case-by-case basis in accordance with FEMA’s 2015 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Guidance.
All applications must be received by TDEM no later than Dec. 30, 2019 in order to be considered for funding under this opportunity.
