The CAPCOG Criminal Justice Program is asking for stakeholder input in drafting the 2023 Criminal Justice Regional Strategic Plan and determining the region’s Plan Year 2023 funding priorities for grants from the Office of the Governor’s (OOG), Criminal Justice Division. CAPCOG will hold an in-person stakeholder meeting at 1 p.m. Oct. 19, 2021 at CAPCOG, 6800 Burleson Road, Building 310, Suite 155 in Austin. A second, virtual, meeting will be at 9 a.m. Oct. 20, 2021.
Input from the meetings, plus a needs survey completed in early October, also provides direction to CAPCOG’s Criminal Justice Advisory Committee for ranking applications for five grant programs — Criminal Justice, General Victim Assistance Direct Services, Violence Against Women Justice and Training, Juvenile Justice and Truancy Prevention, and Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation.
Register to attend the stakeholder meeting.
Info about joining the virtual meeting will be emailed closer to the meeting.
The OOG is expected to release the grants’ Requests for Applications in December. CAPCOG will then hold grant writing workshops that addresses completing applications, applying, and CAPCOG’s ranking processes. It also will offer an application review period to assist those seeking funding if they request it. After the OOG closes the application period in early February, CAPCOG’s CJAC will review and rank applications in late March to make recommendations to the CAPCOG Executive Committee which officially will submit funding recommendations to the OOG.
