State & Federal Law Updates, TCOLE #3185

This class instructs law enforcement officers in the changes and updates to the law as occurred during the 85th Legislative Session of the Texas Congress. This class is mandatory for Peace Officers.

Intermediate Crime Scene Search, TCOLE #2106

This course explains the objectives and legal obligations that must be followed during a crime scene search.

This course provides court security officers with an understanding of the threats associated with courtroom settings as well as technology and techniques used for courtroom security operations. Interacting with Drivers Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, TCOLE #7887

Law enforcement officers who enroll in this TCOLE mandated course will learn about using appropriate techniques to interact and communicate with drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing. They will receive practical training on how to effectively communicate by themselves but also learn when an interpreter may be required.

As part of the course, officers will learn how to identify someone who is deaf or hard of hearing. They also will learn regulations for law enforcement agencies regarding deaf and hard of hearing individuals under the Americans with Disability Act.

Basic Instructor Course, TCOLE #1014

This professional skill development course is for peace officers desiring to earn a TCOLE Instructor Certificate.

Students will receive theory and practice about the learning process, writing learning objectives, developing teaching material, and lesson plan development. This is an intense, time consuming course. Be prepared for homework. Access to a computer and printer is highly recommended.

HFRG/PPCT Threat Pattern Recognition Instructor Course, TCOLE #21013

PPCT specializes in developing use of force training that meets the multiple needs of administrators, trainers and practitioners. PPCTs methodology of conducting documented tactical, legal and medical research has made it a leader in its field and is the primary reason why the training is recognized to be effective in the field and defensible in the courtroom.

This course is designed to certify defensive tactics trainers to use the PPCT Defensive Tactics System. Students will learn how to take immediate control of a subject and apply other defensive tactic techniques, such as handcuffing and weapon retention. Students will receive training that will give them the necessary tools to train others in the use of the PPCT defensive tactics system. Students successfully completing the course will be certified as instructors in the PPCT System of Defensive Tactics.

This course is for the PPCT Instructor who needs to re-certify in order to keep his/her instructor certification current.  Recertification is required every 3 years in order for the PPCT instructor certification to remain valid.  Review and demonstration of skills are part of this hands-on course.

Advanced Instructor Course, TCOLE #1017

The Advanced Instructor Course is professional skill development training for peace officers seeking a TCOLE Advanced Instructor Certificate. During the course, law enforcement officers will be taught advanced theories about the learning process. They will receive advanced practice for writing learning objectives and developing teaching materials and lesson plans. This is an intense and time consuming course.

Glock Armorer, TCOLE #4018

To be eligible to take the Armorers Course you must be an active/retired law enforcement peace officer. 

Learn how to safely use and maintain your weapon in a one day (8 hour) class.  

Certified Armorer Certification for all GLOCK Model Pistols (except G18/C Select-Fire models).

Course will include: Safety Rules; Safe Action System Design; Function of Safeties; Unloading & Clearing; Field Stripping & Reassembly; Detail Disassembly & Reassembly of Slide; Detail Disassembly & Reassembly of Receiver; Fire Control Component Configurations / Engagement; Multiple Practice Disassembly & Reassembly of Entire Pistol; Options / Alternate Parts Offered; and Sights / Tools· Diagnostics / Trouble Shooting Guides.

Advanced Glock Armorer, TCOLE #4018

To be eligible to take the Armorers Course you must be an active/retired law enforcement peace officer. 

Two day (16 hour) class that goes beyond the basic armorers course and discusses advanced maintenance and service issues for the GLOCK pistol.

Current armorers with at least 2 years’ experience are eligible for the Advanced Armorers Course (AA).

Course will include: Safety Rules; Review of Basic Armorers Course; Models/Product/Parts Displays & Discussions; Detail Disassembly & Reassembly of Pistol (Multiple); Examination & Discussion of Individual Parts; Generational Upgrades & Changes; Suggested Inspection Procedures; Diagnosis & Repair - Variety of "Scenario" Pistols - All Generations; and Practical Exercises
