Classes for Older adults

Adults who are 60 years of age or older.

Current Classes

A Matter of Balance

This award-winning program is designed to help those who are 60 years old or older to manage falls and increase their activity levels. Older adults who participate in this class will learn to: 

  • view falls as controllable
  • set goals for increasing activity
  • reduce fall risks at home
  • exercise to increase strength and balance

A Matter a Balance is an eight-week course that is taught once a week for two hours. It is ideal for older adults who:

  • are concerned about falls
  • interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • have fallen in the past
  • have restricted activities because of concerns about falling
  • are able to problem solve and remember discussions

This course will be held from 9 to 11 Tuesdays and Thursdays,  Sept. 3 through Sept. 26. Registration is required.
