Entrance Exam - Basic Peace Officer Course No. 89 (Part Time, Evenings)

Prospective Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) candidates need to take and pass an entrance exam before they qualify for enrollment in the Regional Law Enforcement Academy’s BPOC No. 89 which is scheduled to start Monday, Oct 7, 2019 and projected to end Friday, June 30, 2020. This BPOC is a Part Time, NIGHT class held at CAPCOG.

The timed exam is a four-part test covering basic mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. Candidates must score at least a 75 on each section of the exam. Further BPOC qualification instructions will be given after the exam.

BPOCs are designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take the State's Peace Officer Licensing Exam.

Subjects are taught by TCOLE Certified Peace Officers to meet standardized objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a peace officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as 'hands-on' practical lessons.

This is a 8-9 month, part-time, Basic Peace Officer Course Academy (police training) designed to meet the educational needs of working adults. It runs from 6:00PM to 10:00PM, Monday through Thursday, and most Saturdays from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Date/Time:
June 28, 2019, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
