Current Classes

Regional Notification System (RNS) Training

This course is designed to provide users the skills they need to properly send notifications from the CodeRed Application.

Everbridge Organization Admin & Train-the-Trainer

This 8-hour course is for organization administrators that will help run and manage the regional notification system (RNS) powered by Everbridge starting Oct. 1. Organization administrators will learn all aspects of operating the RNS tool and the roles that are provided within the system. The course will provide them with a high level of knowledge of the Everbridge tool allowing them to assist in training emergency telecommunicators and others who may send emergency notifications to the public during critical instances and disasters.

CAPCOG will conduct user training courses before the Oct. 1 launch and assist organization administrators in running their own training courses.

The Everbridge Organization Admin Course is by invite only. Those who were invited can send a representative to take their place, but they must perform a similar role and CAPCOG is only reserving one seat per invitee.

Disaster Debris

CAPCOG is hosting a workshop on Planning for Disaster Debris Management to help prepare communities for mitigating trash and rubble caused by natural and man-made incidents.

Attendees will learn debris management components and best practices by using existing plan examples and case studies giving them the materials and skills needed to effectively and efficiently plan for debris management. Proper pre-planning for disaster debris protects critical infrastructure, minimizes health and safety risks, and assists with efficiently restoring a community to its pre-disaster state.

While designed for emergency managers, this workshop benefits a variety of groups to include law enforcement personnel, government administrators, city planners, firefighters, hazardous materials teams, public works personnel, and community and residential volunteers.
