A Matter of Balance Fall Prevention Coaches Training

This eight-hour course will teach prospective volunteer coaches about leading A Matter of Balance classes to help prevent seniors from falling and becoming injured.

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls, is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have this concern. It is based upon research conducted by the Roybal Center for Enhancement of Late-Life Function at Boston University.

This course is taking place from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, to 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. Both days must be attended.

Volunteers who become AMOB coaches can conduct A Matter of Balance class series which either run once a week for 8 weeks with a two-hour session or twice a week for four weeks with a two-hour session.
