Open Meetings and Public Information
This workshop will offer newly elected officials and more veteran public officials a more expansive and interactive training experience on the Texas Open Meetings and Public Information Acts than that offered through the Texas Attorney General’s website. Alan Bojorquez, of the Bojorquez Law Firm, will lead the 2-hour seminar about the acts and answer questions based on his experience as a municipal attorney.
Public officials who are elected or appointed to office are required to receive training on these two acts within 90 days of taking their oath of office. This course will satisfy that requirement, and a certificate of completion will be provided to attendees certifying they have successfully undergone state-approved training on the Texas Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act, as mandated by Senate Bill 286 (79th Texas Legislature-2005).
This workshop is free for elected officials who represent CAPCOG members.
