School Based Law Enforcement (SBLE), TCOLE #4064

This course is required for any School Resource Officer or peace officer providing law enforcement for a school district with a student population of 30,000 or more and that must obtain a School-Based Proficiency certificate. The School-Based Law Enforcement (SBLE) training course provides information about the best practices to use in an educational environment. This course will also include training in the following:

  • De-escalation techniques and techniques for limiting the use-of-force including the use of physical, mechanical, and chemical restraints
  • Child and adolescent development and psychology
  • Mental health and crisis intervention
  • The mental and behavioral health needs of children with disabilities or special needs
  • Positive behavioral interventions and supports
  • Conflict resolution techniques
  • Restorative justice techniques
