Venue Address:
These one- and two-day courses provide insight and information about the growing problem of illegal dumping and other environmental crimes. A basic environmental law course will take place on the first day and will be followed by an intermediate course on the second. The basic course is a prerequisite for the intermediate course. Each course will offer their own certificates and continuing education units/hours.
The courses cover various statues and regulations — federal, state and local — that will help officials properly investigate, charge, and prosecute those responsible for creating public nuisance and illegal dump sites as well as those who perform other environmental crimes including illegal outdoor burnings and waterway pollution. They also cover how to abate or mitigate public nuisance sites.
Each course is applicable to law enforcement officers, code enforcement personnel, fire marshals, emergency management personnel, solid waste management personnel, waste water personnel, city managers, public works directors and others. State agency personnel that represents DPS, TCEQ, TPWD, TDEM or other agencies may also attend.
