Description:

This course trains personnel who need advanced skills in using the Incident Command System (ICS). It builds on what is taught in the ICS 100 and ICS 200 courses.

Selection Criteria: 
This course is for individuals who may serve in supervisory roles during incidents. In a Type 3 incident, Command and General Staff positions, as well as Division/Group Supervisors or Unit Leaders, may be activated. These incidents can last for more than one operational period.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) supports the management of larger, expanding incidents.

  • Describe the ICS incident management process for supervisors.

  • Apply the incident management process during a simulated Type 3 incident.

  • Create an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.

Pre-Requisites:

IS-100 or G-IS 100, IS-200 or G-IS 200, IS-700 or G-IS 700, IS-800, or G-IS 800.
