In emergency services we are aware that your #1 health hazards are stress related conditions, e.g. Compassion Fatigue, PTSD, and Burnout. We also know that self care is crucial in the light of these pitfalls. In this workshop, you will be empowered to develop your own routines to care well for the only you there is: body, mind, and spirit.
The job is uniquely hazardous to health. Sedentary shift work is hard enough on your body and family life. Add in dealing with the public’s drama and trauma, interpersonal challenges in the workplace, and overtime! Self care seems impossible. With all these challenges, you know you want to take better care of yourself, and don’t know how.
In this session:

– Participants gain a proven process to overcome the natural resistance to change. Which means that you will finally have the tools you need to really care well for yourself.
– You’ll map your own journey to wellness, which means you’ll be empowered to step over unique obstacles in your way.
– You’ll acquire a method to monitor your well being, which means you won’t have to wail for someone else to tell you when you need to get help.

Instructor: Edie De Vilbiss

Edie De Vilbiss is passionate about sharing her discoveries with you. Working 9-1-1 communications for years brought her compassion fatigue, health problems, and spiritual malaise. She became cranky, fat, and cynical. Over twenty years, she has intentionally renewed her life. Now, she is peaceful, thin, and joyful. She has earned M.S. and an M.Div. and has served as an addictions counselor and Chaplain. Many people benefit with her work. She now invites your transformation through encouraging adoption of simple and actionable tools for your life journey. The life you love begins with habits.
