In this full-day course, students are exposed to a riveting, emotional roller coaster of critical 9-1-1 failures that occurred the night Denise was kidnapped, raped, and murdered. Nathan Lee, founder and President of the Denise Amber Lee Foundation, and a 9-1-1 professional tie together the elements of the Denise Amber Lee tragedy. A positive and uplifting presentation, students will learn of the obvious failures that day to the more in-depth concepts such as leadership, hiring, training and encouraging employees in a communications center.

Instructor: Nathan Lee

Nathan Lee is the founder and President of the Denise Amber Lee Foundation which he formed after the preventable murder of his wife, Denise, in 2008. He has made it his life’s work to honor his courageous wife by promoting better training, standardized protocols, Quality Assurance, and technological advances for 9-1-1 so that it meets the expectations of all citizens. Determined not to have Denise die in vain, Nathan is partnering with the 9-1- 1 industry and using the powerful emotional ammunition of these tragic events to drive change in public policy.

Special Instructions:

Dress Code: To promote a professional training environment, CAPCOG requires proper attire.  Attendee must provide their PID # to receive TCOLE credit for courses taken through CAPCOG. CAPCOG provides training for the Emergency Communication Centers (ECC) in our region at no cost to 9-1-1 telecommunicators and their departments. When space is reserved for a 9-1-1 training class offered by CAPCOG, students or the supervisor who made the reservation must cancel such reservation at least two business days prior to start of the class.
