Please enter the Pecan through the CAPCOG main entrance. You will pass the CAPCOG reception desk.
Law enforcement officers who enroll in this TCOLE mandated course will learn about using appropriate techniques to interact and communicate with drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing. They will receive practical training on how to effectively communicate by themselves but also learn when an interpreter may be required.
As part of the course, officers will learn how to identify someone who is deaf or hard of hearing. They also will learn regulations for law enforcement agencies regarding deaf and hard of hearing individuals under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This course is being offered on the same day as Canine Encounters.

Special Instructions
Attendee must bring their PID # to receive TCOLE credit for the courses affiliated with CAPCOG. To promote a professional environment, CAPCOG requires proper business attire. T-shirts, capri pants and flip-flops are prohibited.
