Description:

Enter the classroom through the CAPCOG training entrance, which is located under the metal awning near the main parking lot.

Walk down the long hallway to the room. Signs will be posted to help with direction.

This course will give appointed and elected officials a fundamental understanding of their roles and responsibilities when managing emergencies, incidents, or disasters in their jurisdictions.  It also will provide participants with the basic framework for successfully executing disaster operations in their communities.

Section 418.005 of the Texas Government Code requires certain elected and appointed officials must to complete an approved course of training no later than the 180th day after the person takes the oath of office, otherwise assumes responsibilities as a public officer if not required to take an oath of office; or is designated as an emergency management coordinator under §418.1015(c).
