The CAPCOG Homeland Security Divisions is hosting its State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) Grant Workshop for those seeking to apply to the 2025 Office of the Governor (OOG) funding opportunity. Attendance at this workshop is required for all applicants submitting projects to be prioritized by CAPCOG. Projects submitted by applicants not represented at this workshop will not be considered for funding.

The workshop will be virtual and cover the following topics:

  • Eligible applicants
  • Eligible activities and projects
  • Requirements for problem statement with supporting data, goal statement, project activity explanations, current and target output and outcome measures, and budget categories and line items
  • Applicable rules, regulations, eligibility requirements, and certifications required for each funding opportunity
  • The state’s strategies or funding priorities identified by the OOG
  • Threats, hazards, and capability gaps identified through the regional THIRA, SPR, and other assessments related to homeland security issues
  • Local policies or procedures that affect CAPCOG’s prioritization process
  • Process for creating, submitting, and certifying applications to the OOG
  • Important grant deadlines and the application and review timeline
  • The project period for each funding opportunity as stated in the Request for Applications (RFA) issued by the OOG
  • Any prohibitions stated in the RFA issued by the OOG.
