TxDOT seeks input for 5310 Program

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is holding virtual public involvement workshops throughout the state to get input about the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) 5310 Program for enhanced mobility of older adults and peoples with disabilities. The TxDOT Austin District’s meeting will be Monday 1 p.m., Dec. 16, 2024, but public comments can be made until Friday, Jan. 17, 2025.

The regional workshops give local community members the chance to provide input and feedback that helps shape public transit services for older adults and peoples with disabilities in their rural and small communities through the FTA 5310 Program. The program coordinates with other federal, state, and local resources and programs that are designed to serve similar populations.

TxDOT’s Austin District includes all the counties in the CAPCOG region except for Fayette County, which is in the Yoakum District. Its virtual public involvement workshop will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024.
