CAPCOG is conducting a series of regional stakeholder meetings to develop the next five-year Criminal Justice Strategic Plan. These sessions are an opportunity for regional stakeholders to provide input on the region’s criminal justice priorities, service gaps, and needs. Each session will held in a different location so organizations operating in specific counties can discuss the unique needs of their geographic area and populations.
The sessions include:
- Travis and Williamson counties – 10 a.m. to noon, June 16, CAPCOG Offices, 6800 Burleson Road in Austin
- Lee, Bastrop and Fayette counties – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 17, Fayette County EMS, 1721 N Von Minden Road in La Grange
- Burnet, Llano and Blanco counties – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 18, Marble Falls Public Library, 101 Main Street. in Marble Falls
- Hays and Caldwell counties – 1 to 3 p.m., June 20, San Marcos Public Library, 625 E Hopkins Street in San Marcos
Any resident or organization with an interest in participating in the criminal justice planning process is invited to attend their county’s session; however, CAPCOG is specifically seeking input from the following stakeholder groups:
- County and city public officials and administrators
- Law enforcement agencies
- Juvenile justice professionals
- Victim service providers
- Mental health & substance use service providers
- School public officials and administrators
- Nonprofits and community organizations
The sessions are not required but are a valuable opportunity to shape the regional five-year strategic plan. Due to seating limitations, CAPCOG requests that prospective attendees register for the session associated with their organization’s primary service area.
