The Regional Wildfire Resilience Summit is a one-day conference that will aid in facilitating local and regional preparedness, mitigation, and response planning to wildfires. It will bring local elected officials, key government administrative officials, fire departments and other emergency response teams together with state and regional resources used combat wildfires.
The summit will feature two plenary sessions about emergency management response and discussions from the western, eastern and I-35 corridor jurisdictions. Several break-out, workshop style sessions will take place throughout the day on topics related to wildfire response, evacuation, and mutual aid planning.
State and regional agencies planning to participate in the summit include the Texas Division of Emergency Management, Texas Forest Service, Texas Animal Health Commission, National Weather Service, CAPCOG Public Safety Unmanned Aircraft Response Team, the Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council, and more.
Special Instructions
CAPCOG asks that would-be attendees register prior to the event, so it can best determine a headcount and prepare any items needed for attendees.
