General management includes the office of the Executive Director which has oversight over all program and administrative functions of CAPCOG.
General management includes fiscal management (grants administration, performance measures, financial reporting and budgeting), human resources (insurance, the retirement system), records management, and public information. CAPCOG’s general management staff updates the CAPCOG website, including the CAPCOG online regional directory, and produces multiple publications including the CAPCOG annual report and performance measures, the CAPCOG monthly newsletter, program brochures, advertisements, and media releases. In addition, general management staff serves as the primary liaison for services to member organizations and regional stakeholders.

Information Technology Services
Information technology services staff maintains CAPCOG’s computer, networking, and telephone equipment and provide guidance in the selection of new equipment and the development of regional technological infrastructure. This includes administration/maintenance of the CAPCOG local area network, homeland security WebEOC and emergency notification systems, all operating systems, servers, network printers/plotters, network hardware, and email. Information technology services staff also provide internal internet and user application support for CAPCOG.
Finance
Finance staff is responsible for all internal and external financial services for CAPCOG programs in the following areas: accounting, budgeting, financial management and reporting, purchasing and payroll. Finance staff also provides certain support services as needed to implement programs in accordance with grant and contract agreements.
The professionals at CAPCOG and its member governments have made the Central Texas region known as a leader in Next Generation 9-1-1, economic development innovation, air quality monitoring, environmental law enforcement, and much more. They have helped to foster relationships between large and small communities throughout its ten-county region, which have led to partnerships and sharing resources for emergency communications, homeland security, law enforcement training, meeting the needs of older Americans, transportation and economic development.

Regional Research Coordinator
The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) is a regional government serving ten Central Texas counties including the Austin community and undertakes planning and technical assistance to guide community and economic development activities at the regional and local levels. Candidates should have experience using a variety of economic and demographic data sources to compile analyses, presentations, and reports related to economic competitiveness factors influenced by workforce, transportation, housing, land use and business development trends. Work will include economic recovery and resiliency initiatives funded by EDA and managing a regional dashboard.
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in community and regional planning, urban planning, public policy, economics or a related field is required. Completion of graduate-level coursework that incorporates data driven economic and demographic analysis preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional work in community and regional planning, economic analysis, or economic development strategic development work. Experience using ArcGIS, EMSI, and all traditional data sources required with at least two years of experience compiling and analyzing data to support planning and policy projects.
Salary range: $45,000-58,000 depending on qualifications

ADRC Critical Response Coordinator
Aging Services, a division within CAPCOG, is seeking candidates to serve as a part-time, temporary Critical Response Coordinator with the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). The ADRC supports older adults, persons with disabilities, and caregivers with access to long-term services and community resources to support health, well-being and independence in the 10-county Capital Area.
The ADRC seeks a flexible, multi-tasker with a passion for working with older adults, persons with disabilities both through direct service and administering innovative service programs. The position will assist in coordinating six short-term, diverse projects funding a variety of community supports in response to the impact of COVID-19 in a ten-county area. Work involves working with sub-contractors and partner agencies, as well as assisting clients in need directly. The position also includes program planning, analyzing data using spreadsheets and databases and preparing both narrative and statistical reports. With its wide range of innovative projects and programs the ADRC offers employees opportunities for participation in local, state and federal projects on the leading edge of community-based, family centered, service provision.
Travel is required within the 10-county region. The incumbent must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance specified by the State of Texas, and dependable transportation. This is a part-time (30 hours a week) grant-funded position ending Sept. 30, 2021 and does not include benefits.
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is required; Major course work in sociology, psychology, gerontology, social work, public administration, or related field is preferred.
Experience: At least one year of experience in social service programs is required; Experience at the coordinator level and in an environment serving older adults and/or persons with disabilities is preferred.

RFP – Technology Training and Support Pilot Project for Older Adults – Closed
The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), as the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), is seeking proposals from contractors with proven experience in technology training and supports to design and implement a pilot program to reduce social isolation by providing interactive technology training, hardware, and software for adults 60 years old or older and persons receiving SSI/SSDI due to a disability. The pilot will involve community partners in at least two rural counties and one under-served urban area within the 10-county CAPCOG region. This effort will be funded with CARES Act monies through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and is subject to federal and state rules.

The home repair services will be part of a team of occupational therapists (OTs) and registered nurses (RNs) providing in-home visits to older adults in Bastrop County. Clients in the program receive home repairs based on goals identified by participants; repairs are generally limited in scope and are intended to improve day-to-day functioning of participants.
An ideal candidate has experience with a wide variety of home repair jobs, such as installing railings and replacing light fixtures, as well as experience working with older adults.
