The CAPCOG Regional Law Enforcement Academy will conduct a New Supervisor Course that is required for all newly promoted supervisors. The course teaches the basics for making the transition from line officer to supervisor. Upon completion of the class, students will be able to set up and manage a counseling session and be able to recognize the major symptoms of burnout in their employees. Students will also be able to identify the basics of social skills and be able to function effectively by applying those skills in any type of setting either on or off duty.
The course meets the requirements for compliance with 1701.352 of the Occupations Code for new supervisor training.
